AIPVT

(AIPVT)  (All India Pre-Veterinary Test)

Veterinary Council of India(VCI) conducts AIPVT (All India Pre-Veterinary Test for entrance examination for filling up 15% of total number of seats to be filled on Merit in each Government Veterinary College in India (except from Jammu & Kashmir State)  .

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

An applicant is eligible for admission to the All India Pre –Veterinary Test if the following criteria are met with:-

Nationality: He/She is an Indian national.  Since the provisions of the Indian    Veterinary

Candidates  are not eligible to compete for B.V.Sc. & A.H. seats in the State of Jammu & Kashmir due to some legal issue.

Age:  Candidate will attain or will attain the  age of Seventeen (17) years

1 Essential Qualification  : He/She has passed:-

(i) The Higher Secondary Examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination equivalent to 10+2 Higher/Senior Secondary Examination after a period of 12 years of study the last two years of study with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other elective subject with English at a level not less than the core course for English as prescribed by the National Council for Education Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 (years) educational structure as recommended by the National Committee on Education.

OR

(ii) The Intermediate Science examination in science from a recognized University/Board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (which shall include a practical test in these subjects) and English.

Minimum marks:

To be eligible for entrance examination, candidate must have passed any of the qualifying examinations as enumerated above.  Further, he/she should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for General Category in aggregate in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English at 10+2 /Intermediate Science Examination. Provided also that to be eligible for entrance examination the candidate must have passed the aforesaid subjects individually.  For the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Caste/the Scheduled Tribes or other special category (Other Backward Classes) of students as specified by the Government from time to time, marks required for admission shall be 10% less than that prescribed for General Category.

Note:-  (I)   A candidate who is taking the qualifying examination prior to the Entrance Examination, or whose  result  is   awaited,  may   also apply and take the examination   but   he/she shall not be eligible for admission to the B.V.Sc. & A.H. programme, if he/she does not pass the qualifying examination with the required percentage of marks as per the Minimum Standard of Veterinary  Education .

             (II)    In pursuance  of the Honorable  Supreme Court  and according  to detailed  instructions of the Ministry of  Human  Resource  Development it has been  decided to  implement  OBC  reservations in phased  manner on  the pro-rata  basis  in respect  of seats being  contributed  to the All India Quota  by the  Central  Education  Institutions only.

EXAM PATTERN

DURATION AND SCHEME OF EXAMINATION

The All India Pre-Veterinary Test shall be of 3 hours duration and will have one paper consisting of 200 objective type (multiple choice and reason-assertion type) questions from Physics, Chemistry and

Biology. The details of distribution of questions are as follows:

17. SYLLABUS FOR THE EXAMINATION

The general standard of the All India Pre-Veterinary Test will be that of XIth and XIIth class under the 10+2 Scheme/Pre-Medical/Intermediate Science or an equivalent examination of an Indian University/State Board/CBSE.  No separate syllabus for the examination is prescribed by the Council.

18. LANGUAGE OF QUESTION PAPER

      Language of Question Paper shall be in English Only.

    RESULT AND ADMISSION PROCEDURE

A list of successful candidates in order of merit based on the score obtained in the entrance examination shall be prepared.  The Merit List shall be equal to the number of seats available

for allotment in B.V.Sc. & A.H. course under 15% quota.  There shall also be a Waiting List containing the name and rank number of candidates limited/equal to “two times “the number

In case of two or more candidates obtaining equal marks in the entrance examination, the inter-se-merit of such candidates shall be determined in order of preference as follows:-

(a) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Biology in the entrance examination.

(b) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Chemistry in the entrance examination.

(c) Candidates obtaining higher marks in Physics in the entrance examination.

(d) Candidates older in age to be preferred.

TIPS FOR BIT MET EXAM:

Candidate concentrate on each section practiced by sample papers and previous year’s question paper  for mathematics as more questions will be asked from that section .One has to remember this level of exams are very competitive .So effective practice is quite important.Study the problems by doing it. Otherwise one  will not get enough speed or time for entrance exam as he needs to complete each question within a minute. Study other subjects after completing maths.candidates can make use of coaching centers and sample question papers.
