MICAT ENTRANCE (Mudra Institute of Communications Ahmedabad Admission Test)
MICAT is conducted by Mudra institute of Communication situated in Ahmadabad for admission to its PG diploma courses (PGDM-C).
There two-year programme is called the PGPCM approved by AICTE, and it leads to the award of a PGDM(C) upon successful completion of the programme.
The Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) was established in 1991. MICA is the first residential institute in the country, and perhaps in the Asia- Pacific region, dedicated to meeting the integrated marketing communication needs of the industry, government and community to develop professional communication skills in India.
Admission to the PGDM(C) programme requires a Bachelor’s degree (in keeping with the 10 + 2 + 3 (4) system) with minimum 50% marks, or an equivalent qualification in any discipline recognised by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Candidates appearing for final examinations towards a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are also eligible to apply.
Students who demonstrate aptitude for expressing, assessing, or conceiving ideas that move people to action and achieve business results tend to stand a better chance of being shortlisted.

The students short listed through this test are asked to attend a MICAT written test. The test is to evaluating the candidates on the basis of the following areas,
The duration of the test is 1.30hrs which will test the candidate’s communication skills. There is also group exercise and personal interview to check the candidate’s verbal skills and his thinking style. There is no syllabus as such.
RESULT AND ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Stage-1 : MICAT
MICAT is a paper-pencil exam designed to test the candidate’s aptitude and orientation towards Communications Management as a profession.
Stage-2 : GE and PI – This consists of a series of interactions with candidates, on campus, to assess their suitability for the Communications Management industry.

Tips for MP MICA Exam:
The MICAT is designed to assess analytical ability, divergent thinking, written communication skills, and general awareness about the Communications industry.
There is no special preparation required for MICAT. It is expected that prospective candidates to be well-read, innovative, and intelligent with an analytical bent of mind. The institute expects candidates to be aware of contemporary social and industry issues including general awareness towards marketing, advertising, and business issues.
